Prevention - Breaking the Cycle of Crime and Incarceration

Connection to a Positive Future

Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Florida, through its robust prevention programs, helps to break the cycle of potential criminal behavior in families. Mentors provide a strong and safe lifeline to these children, as a role model and a guide. They help to prevent vulnerable youth from entering the juvenile justice system leading a life that could lead to negative consequences. We serve children in this program who have a family member who is currently incarcerated or has been previously.

As a result, youth gain a glimpse of a world they haven’t seen before, as they build self-confidence and learn positive life choices.

Funding for this program has been provided by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
